The ELCA Macedonia Project

The TableYour table is ready

The ELCA Macedonia Project is a two-year initiative to help congregations grow in their stewardship practices, and in their capacity to be generous in their mission support.

Building our capacity to change the world in Jesus’ name

An integrated and holistic approach to this initiative which assists congregations to build capacity for mission for the long haul.

The Congregational Cohort Model includes twenty healthy, high potential congregations from the Minneapolis Area and Saint Paul Area Synods that began the 17-month process in June 2011. The diverse group of congregations share these common characteristics: strong leadership; a commitment to mission beyond themselves; an openness to change and growth. Through this process, they will take a significant step forward in the development of their stewardship ministry and in deepening their financial commitment to the mission of their congregations and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).

Areas of emphasis, learning, and strategy development

  • Building a strong biblical and theological foundation for stewardship development
  • Sharpening vision for mission
  • Engaging diverse groups of givers and helping them grow
  • Communicating the message through branding, technology, social media
  • Developing leaders
  • Creating integrated holistic year-round stewardship ministry
  • Celebrating our identity as the Body of Christ through the ELCA
