Bishop Lull: A Living Hope
Evening Prayer for Unity at the Cathedral of Saint Paul (1.21.18) “A Living Hope” I Peter 1:3-5 [...]
The dailyness of life in community, for all its beauty and possibility, runs the risk of wearing down people’s spirits with problems that keep returning or relationships that are forever in need of mending. One of the disciplines of effective ministry, then, is tending the soul of a community that inspires and makes worthwhile any practice shared with others. What markers do leaders watch to understand how the soul of a community fares? What questions and practices best help communities find renewal? Dr. Barbara Sutton brings to this conversation her rootedness in the Benedictine tradition, as well as her experience in working with leaders and community members of many kinds.
Dr. Barbara Sutton is Adjunct Professor of professor of theology at Saint John’s School of Theology*Seminary and the Benedictine Center’s 2017-2018 Scholar in Residence.
