Youth take stand against bullying

When you hear the adage, “If you see something, say something,” it is generally in reference to potential crime or suspected terrorism. However, a group of middle and high school youth is using this attitude of saying something to tackle something they have all seen and, for some, experienced: bullying.

Community Resource Center offers help, hope, and healing

Only a couple of years ago, Kevin had a successful career in construction and engineering, and his wife, Charlene, worked part-time as a catering manager and also stayed home to manage an active household and care for their four daughters. After a series of unfortunate events, including job loss, issues with mental and physical health, and struggles with addiction, Kevin and Charlene lost their home in White Bear Lake in May 2009. The family of six was hit with a new reality, homeless and unsure of where to turn.

Tool Kit brings lay leaders together

Approximately 200 leaders from congregations gathered at St. Mark’s Lutheran in North St. Paul for the eighth annual Tool Kit for Congregational Leaders on Saturday, Feb. 25. Hosted by the Saint Paul Area Synod, it gathers and equips leaders, giving them a chance to connect, ask questions, and discuss a wide variety of topics, such as balancing the books, developing a social media strategy, cooking safely for your congregation, and implementing senior ministry initiatives, as well as many others.
