Important Information about Changes in the Distribution of FaithLinkAs you may remember, FaithLink went through some changes with the January 2009 issue, including a new design and editing of the mailing list. The format and distribution of FaithLink are undergoing yet another renovation. Like before, the changes will be environmentally friendly, cosmetic, and mindful of our limited resources. Sharing the vital ministry that’s happening in our synod will remain a priority. The synod’s electronic communications have expanded in the last year, and we are confident that this move to electronic distribution will not compromise that communication. The cost saving from email delivery of newsletters is significant, including paper, printing, postage, and staff time to prepare the mailing. In addition to a significant cost savings, we’ll be more environmentally friendly. It’s difficult to predict how readership will be affected, but in an increasingly electronic world, we hope that email delivery will be more accessible and convenient. FaithLink will be housed on the synod website. An email will be sent notifying you of the latest issue. Currently, the newsletter distribution includes rostered leaders and others who have asked to receive it, council leadership in each congregation of this synod, and ten additional copies that are mailed to congregations with the request that they be distributed to others on your church council or on your staff. Please help us to continue to reach these people and others, by encouraging them to sign up or placing a link to FaithLink on your website. If you are concerned about receiving synod news via email, please call Kate Penz to request that a copy be printed and mailed to your home address. Sharing our synod’s ministry stories is important, and your partnership is invaluable. Thank you for your help in this transition. |
