The Fall Joint Ministerium was held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Shepherd of the Valley, Apple Valley. This year’s theme, “Standing in Awe” (Psalm 33.8), encourages us to consider our call to care for the created world as a faith practice and act of worship.
Our speaker for the day was Jacob J. Erickson, Instructor of Religion and Environmental Studies at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, and “Ecotheologian in Residence” at Mercy Seat Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. He teaches a wide range of courses from Theology of Creation to a environmental studies seminar on elephants. His writing appears in a range of publications – from the online Religion Dispatches to, most recently, Divinanimality: Animal Theory, Creaturely Theology, ed. Stephen Moore (Fordham University Press, 2015).
