Fall Festival & Family Fun

King of Kings, Woodbury. Join the fun at the “3rd Annual Fall Festival & Family Fun Night." The admission for the evening is free but the Cake Walk is 50 cents a ticket to try winning a cake. All Cake Walk proceeds will support 2013 Youth Mission Trips. The Festival Dinner runs from 5:30-7:00 p.m. A free will offering will be collected for dinner. See the flyer. Art Exhibit

King of Kings, 1583 Radio Dr., Woodbury. King of Kings will host its second annual art exhibit. Created by artist John Acosta, who is known for his murals, residencies at schools, and classes. Acosta is best noted for his work “Hunger Has No Color,” a 12x56 foot outdoor mural located at 344 South Robert Street in St. Paul. The art exhibit will start with a gala opening to be held on Aug. 3 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The artists will be present to talk about their works and to answer questions. Refreshments will be served.

What is a synod?

Offering

Within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), a synod is an administrative and missional geographic region, overseen by a bishop who provides direction to staff, a synod council, and volunteers from its congregations for vision, support, and resources to carry out mission and ministry. The Saint Paul Area Synod is one of 65 synods in the ELCA and the second largest in the number of baptized members.

Our synod is involved in local and global mission. Collaborative mission tables, mission renewal opportunities for congregations seeking to revitalize their ministry, companion synod endeavors, and supervision and mentoring for mission developers have sought to broaden partnerships among local congregations and the synod and spark and multiply mission opportunities.
